The early church tradition of House Worship started in March 2008.
Acts 2:46. And they, continuing daily with one accord and breaking bread from house to house.
Philemon: 1-2. Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house.

The Making of TEC: Before TEC had its being, it was fearfully and wonderfully made according to His Truth. We are to praise His name every day for ever and ever.
Psalm 139:13-14: For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Psalm 146:6 He made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is. He keepeth truth for ever.
Our early encounter with Archbishop Yong Ping Chung: Our Church Planter and Spiritual Developer of Our Senior Community
It was in January 2008, we joined the Anglican Mission in Americas and met Archbishop Yong at the Winter Conference. We were struck by his modesty and humility. His Bishop’s stole was different from others – on it was embroidered with Biblical Passage in Chinese: (Sow in Tears) on the left, (Reap in Joy) on the right. With his evangelical spirit, he took us under his wings and guided us along in God’s way according to His will and good pleasure.
In March 2008 he made his first Missionary Journey to Toronto and visited our site at McNicoll Avenue. It was a very cold winter night. On that piece of undeveloped desolate land, he called us (5 Board Members) to seek God’s heart in a 30-minute prayer walk. He was persuaded that God had a mission for us. He planted the seed and watered it with his tearful prayers.
He made many more trips to TEC in later years, encouraging and preaching to us to concern ourselves with the right things. His list of priorities included the Bible, the Church, Holiness in Life and Vocation. He has a passion for the truth of His Word that Christ be glorified every way.
Archbishop Yong passed away on December 22, 2022. He will be fondly remembered by all who were deeply moved by his works, and remain highly respected as one of the most noteworthy “giants of the faith” of our time.
